El Compagino Site Redesign

For this project, I decided to redesign the entire website of a local eatery named El Compagino in Gwinnett, GA, that I frequently visit myself. While the food at this restraint is simply fantastic, their website left much to be desired. For my redesign, I aimed to create a website that would get their message across and be aesthetically pleasing to visit and see. To this end, I wanted a site whose colors captured and gave off the theme of a Mexican restaurant without being quite as loud and painful to see as their original site. I also wanted to make sure the site was easily navigable and easy to understand. In the end, I think I accomplished both goals very well.

The redesigned site features 5 main pages. The homepage shows off images of foods that are served at the restaurant, the restaurant hours, an image of what the establishment looks like, and a link to the “Find Us” page for directions. The history page is dedicated to the story of how the restaurant was created. Because the story is both cute and was featured on the original site, I figured it deserved to be featured in mine as well. This page also has space to add a video for the restaurant as well, though right now a filler video holds its place. The Find Us page provides the store hours again, the address, phone number, and a working google map of the restaurants location so the store can be easily found. The menu page depicts the restaurants entire menu and prices, and has different formats depending on screen size. Finally, the Contact page gives contact information and has a working email for customers to quickly email the restaurant if they wish.

The entire website is also responsive for computer, tablet, and phone screens. This is something the original site lacked and basically means that the site conforms to most screens for easy viewing. Finally, along with a second instance of the navigation buttons, the footer of this site also contains working social media buttons for the two social media pages the restaurant actively uses, Facebook and yelp.

REMINDER: This site was done as a school project only and is not affiliated with the restaurant at the time of this being written. No money is being made with this site and their logo and imagery is not owned by me. Feel free to visit them though, the foods great!

My Redesign

This is an image of a website wireframe design I made for a childrens juice site. It features bright colors and rounded edges on most of the text boxes for a friendly feel. A picture of a cute little girl sipping juice can be seen on it too.

The Original

This is an image of a website that inspired my Penny Juice Redesign. It features bad art of children at a juice stand with alot of too vibrant colors.
